When I left California 23 years ago and moved to central Florida (for love, go figure), I left a lot behind, including my church home, and it seems since I arrived in Florida I’ve been a ‘wanderer’ when it comes to having a church home and some accountability.
Those who know my story know how that went.
When I made the decision to pack up for Clermont I wanted to find a “home” because Christianity was never intended to be done alone, in spite of whatever social anxiety I might have from my Asperger/Autism.

No matter what’s in the past, Christ is only concerned about RIGHT NOW, and my willingness to let Him reign over TOMORROW.
I’m home again.
Found at the @walmart in Plant City. Think I’ll wear it to church tomorrow.

Absolutely heartbroken. Pastor Mel Caparino was a mentor, friend, weekly breakfast companion at the local McD’s, the accidental originator of “Get Commoted” (that’s another funny story), but most of all one of the most humble and gracious servants of Christ I’ve ever known. In 2002 a massive heart attack left him unable to care for himself, and I learned this morning that he has gone on to his reward in heaven.

Pretty much all my PC has been doing since last night: Streaming the porch cam and downloading my OneDrive.
Oh, and listening to some ’90s Christian rock/metal. Mortal FTW.
As a little kid in California living near @disneyland, I’d lay on the floor watching the TV ads for the much bigger @waltdisneyworld while watching the Sunday-night duo of The Love Boat and “Fantasy Island” (I had a crush on Julie the cruise director) and told myself that when I grew up I would move to Florida so I could go to Walt Disney World whenever I wanted.
I ended up in Florida by chance rather than intention 23 years ago, and, well, I’ve had an annual pass for at least the last ten of those years (even after the price for one nearly doubled post-COVID). At the end of September I’ll be living just a little bit closer. Moving from Plant City, Florida to Cagan Crossings on September 29th. That purple shaded area? Walt Disney World.
